Biochar is created through the thermal decomposition of biomass. Depending on the feed stock & decomposition process, biochar contains different properties and porosity. Biochar is an excellent soil additive with great focus from the USDA among other agriculturally focused entities. Currently there are several grant and subsidy initiatives for the creation of & deployment of biochar on agriculturally producing lands.
Additionally, biochar derived from industrial hemp fiber has proven to have favorable properties for battery conductivity. Research is currently underway on the further utilization of hemp fiber for semiconductor & battery applications.
